Spark S505

Verykool Spark s505 : Two SIM Card Slots At a Fair Price But Less Impressive

The best thing about the verykool s505 is its body . Many inexpensive Android phones are stolid little bricks of cheap black plastic . But the body of this phone is a slender, classier-looking slab of slightly greasy-feeling white plastic . It almost feels like a Samsung . The s505's front is dominated by its 1,280-by-720 , 5-inch screen. It's an IPS LCD , sharp enough and with true colors , although not very bright . On the back, there's a 12-megapixel camera .

It comes with the 2,000mAh battery and there are two SIM card slots . It takes one full size SIM where the second one is a micro SIM . It has a memory slot which supports microsd upto 32 gb . Connectivity feature incudes 3G , wi-fi , Bluetooth , GPS .

The S505 runs the outdated Android 4.2.2 on a 1.3GHz , quad-core Mediatek MT6582 processor . On the Antutu and Geekbench system benchmarks , it comes in just behind phones like the Moto G , which have 1.2GHz, quad-core Qualcomm processors . With 1Gb of ram and 2.5 Gb of limited storage the device does not stand upto the mark . The 12-megapixel camera is another area where the S505's can do better . Flash photos are blurry. Low-light photos are very noisy . The 2-megapixel front camera is also not impressive .
The main camera records 1080p video at 30 frames per second indoors and out , but it gets quite noisy indoors . The front camera records overexposed , 640-by-480 video .

Music and video playback is much better. The s505 comes with a nice Gallery app that shows video thumbnails, and it plays Xvid, DivX, and H.264 1080p videos without a problem . There's also an FM radio , which locked into stations quickly and accurately . Music and video playback through wired and Bluetooth headphones sounds clear .

Good-looking, $199 unlocked phones are pretty rare. Around this price point, the S505's is not a bad choice .
